Friendship
Darcy Makena is our newest Golden Retriever child. She
came into this world on May 5, 1996. Darcy's mom is from the
Mistfield line & cousin to our Mistfield Oliver CGC
"Ollie" as we
were determined to find a treasure just as sweet, smart and noble.
Darcy is a little lovebug. She can't get close enough to you, and
snuggles between her mummy and daddy in bed at night. Truly a girl
to the core, Darcy truly relishes in finding any surface which holds
her reflection.
Friendship Darcy Makena (or Darcy) was named
for my mother Doris, a very special lady loved by all who knew her.
The name Makena is shared by a beautiful beach in Maui, Hawaii.
Truly a girl to the core, Darcy truly relishes in finding any
surface which holds her reflection. Then, she is able to marvel at
how adorable she is. Darcy had a major crush on Ollie, who she so
very much adored. So she picked on and annoyed him to get his
attention. Of course, Ollie said "stop kissing me, stop trying to
wrestle with me - I just want to rest!"
It is a little hard for Darcy, as she always gets compared to her
cousin Ollie who was so very smart and polite and gentle. Poor Darcy,
she's just a tomgirl who loves to get into things that Ollie never
even dreamed of. An interesting eater, though, she loves carrots and
asparagus, and has been known to dig up sweet potatoes out of our
garden. Darcy also is addicted to TV. She loves any show that
features animals, and really was taken with the 101 Dalmatians movie.
Often, Darcy can't believe what she is seeing, having to get as close
as she can to the TV set to investigate further. Darcy is a
famous Golden Retriever, as she resides as reigning hostess at the
Land of PureGold and Live, Love & Laugh
with Golden Retrievers.
And, she is hostess to a new dogring on the web. Darcy's "
Golden
Bonds" webring is for sites that celebrate this kid-dog bond
and shows how dogs can function as teachers and healers. Kids and
adults alike, whose pages touch upon the gifts that dogs have
provided their companions, have been invited to join.
