We
waited a year before we found a reputable breeder who had Samoyed pups.
But the first night we brought him home, we thought we would have to send
him back because he cried and fretted all night for his littermates. So
we realized right away that Wiley was even more vocal than Samoyeds usually are.
But his method of communication has grown on us; he is particularly vocal
when he gets excited. He moans and runs around the house in anticipation
before we take him to doggie play group (his favorite activity); and he
gives us a soft wolf-howl before he is fed.
He knows just a few commands: sit, stay, down, shake, up up (get on the
couch, bed, etc.), and of course kisses (our favorite)! We are also
working on his computer skills right now (ha!).
Wiley loves us, our cats, and his girl friend, Ennie, who is our neighbors'
boxer who is just a few weeks younger than he is.
