Trix(ie)
is short for Beatrix which is short for her
super-official name, Ms Beatrix of Amethyst. She is named after
Beatrix Potter, author of Peter Rabbit and other wonderful stories of
animals. We got her as a tiny puppy. So tiny that she could, and
did, sleep curled up on Bob's shoulder (Bob got rather stiff,
sitting in that chair trying not to move).
Trix is an intelligent,
affectionate little bundle, definitely Queen of the House. Her
joys include chewing her Nylabones (the big ones) and dropping them
loudly on any vinyl or hardwood floor just to hear the thud, playing
and cuddling with us, sleeping under the covers, and eating ice
cream. She is not enamored with children (luckily for her, we have
none), is afraid of thunder and thunder-like loud noises (a result
of her attending a rather meager fireworks display last July 4th -
go figure), and is rather barky with people outside the family.
We love her to bits.
