Z
is an American Pit Bull Terrier. She has been a godsend to this
household. My father passed away 1/7/98 and the other Pit Bull we had
was killed five days later. Needless to say, we were grief stricken.
We got Z at five and a half weeks old, and she has been the most
wonderful addition to this household. She gave me something to care
for as I had been taking care of my father for years and was lost.
She is extremely well behaved and we are preparing her to take her
good citizen's award test, which I am sure she will pass. It is a
series of behavioral commands around other dogs and people. She will
do just fine.
She has been going to Mardi gras parades, St. Patrick's,
Italian-American parades and generally likes to frequent the French
Quarter to take a leisurely look around. She is very well received
and she loves everyone. She has a box where she keeps her babies...
stuffed animals... And sleeps either with me or with Lesa under the
covers or with her head on the pillow. She is not the only dog we
have, but she is the baby. The other two were grieving also for my
father and for the other pit "Zero."
She does love to dress up...She was little red riding hood for
Halloween, has hats and her own bomber jacket. She has been known to
put on cat and bunny ears!! She is very protective especially of
young children, and can not stand anyone to be upset or to be
fighting. She constantly breaks up little spats with the other two
dogs. She means the world to this household.
