About Us
Gus, the Dog of the Day
Name: Gus
Age: Three years old
Gender: Male Breed: Saint Bernard
Home: Westminster, Colorado, USA

Hi! My name is Gus. I'm a Saint Bernard. My job is to bring joy and happiness into the lives of the humans I meet. My parents on earth are Carol and Jim. They're pretty neat! Carol took me to obedience school where she learned how to be a better dog-parent. Jim and I hang out together during the day. I watch Jim read the paper, then we watch TV and go for a walk or two. Jim and I never miss a football game! Carol tries to teach me "doggy" tricks! Hey - I'm a Saint Bernard - I find people lost in avalanches! In between, I lay around the house and look cute.

Anyway, my life here is pretty good! I get groomed, fed very well (and very often), and basically my life is filled with love and affection. If there's ever a web site for dog owners, I'd recommend Carol and Jim, but since this web site is for dogs, Carol and Jim would probably recommend Me!! (Don't tell them that I typed this, okay?)

Gus weights 170 pounds now and is almost full grown! Gus is the third Saint that I've owned and loved! It took me six years to convince my husband that we needed a dog. He always said that if we ever got one, it would be a Saint, so that part was easy! A Saint breeder friend of mine sent pictures of Gus to my home. When my husband got the pictures, he packed up the car and we left on that Friday afternoon for Phoenix, Arizona to pick up our little bundle of joy. We came up with the name of "Gus" while driving down there. His "official" name is "Pride of the Rockies, Augustus" - a pretty distinguished name for a laid back dog like Gus!

Gus loves the snow in Colorado! After it snows, it's hard to keep Gus in the house! He rolls around making doggie angels in the snow! Gus has brought so much love and happiness into our lives! We're blessed to have him as a member of our family!
