About Us
Zachy, the Dog of the Day
Name: Zachy
Age: Three years old
Gender: Male Breed: Siberian Husky
Home: Kansas, USA

Hello, My name is Zachy, and I am a three year old, purebred Siberian Husky who lives in Kansas. What makes me different from my cousin, the Alaskan Malamute, is that I have the blue eyes. Both of us are used to pull sleds. Unlike most other breeds, I have a special two layer coat in the winter. I have an undercoat which is thick wool-like material which keeps me warm, and my outer silky coat is about four inches long and this keeps me dry in the winter. I feel very comfortable in weather of 50 or 60 degrees below 0. My paws also are different from other breeds. My pads are closer together and I have thick fur in-between the pads to keep my feet warm and dry.

I have very strong front legs and a strong chest which I use for pulling sleds, and I am considered very powerful and have great endurance. I can run forever... I love children and adults and am very friendly, even to strangers. What makes me different is that I talk. I also bark, but when I talk, I say wwwoooooowww, wwwwoowww, wwoowwww, to let my master know what I want. The smaller picture is of me wwwoooowww-ing.
