Tikka
is a wonderful pet. She loves going for walks in the woods and
she loves to swim. One of her favorite summertime games is for us to
throw rocks into the water and she will dive under and get them. Most
of her time is spent with her best friend "Ben" our other
Golden Retriever.
She is very laid back, however, say the words "Who wants to go
picking blueberries" or "Let's go for a walk" and her
energy level goes up very quickly. She and Ben are great pals and he
is extremely energetic, so they keep each other well exercised. The
only time she shows any protective instincts is if she thinks Ben is
being threatened. She is very protective of him.
Tikka has competed in a dog trick competition in conjunction with a
fund-raising activity that we take part in each year to raise money
for the SPCA in our area and has won, two out of three times. She is
able to count your fingers when you hold them up. You can do it in
any order up to five and she will get it right every time.
