This
is my dog, Butch Kelpie. He was training to be a sheepdog in
outback Australia, but he didn't take to the work all that well. He
would always jump back onto the motor bike when he was supposed to be
herding sheep. They had to push him off the bike to get him off, he
run a bit, then head straight back to the bike or sometimes would go
swimming in the nearest water hole. They always knew where to find
him, swimming or laying under a shady tree somewhere.
I saved him and took him back to my farm in Northern NSW where he
sometimes helps herd the cows, but is usually to be found swimming in
the creek or sleeping under a tree. Oh well, he's a great dog anyway
and we love him dearly. Our farm is situated on the east coast, just
below the New South Wales - Queensland border. Sydney is about eight
hours drive south of us. The beach is about an hour east.
