Hercules
is a six-month-old terrier mix who loves everybody and
everything! His previous owner had abandoned him, just left him
behind in an apartment. He lived there with his five brothers and
sisters for several weeks before anyone realized what had happened.
When they did, they broke the door in and rescued the puppies.
Hercules had the most medical problems of the bunch. Not only was he
suffering from malnutrition and starvation but he also had several
bite wounds. One of his forelegs was badly infected and he had to be
hospitalized for four days. When I went to pick him up from the vets
(who by the way, didn't charge for any medical treatment after
hearing Herc's tale), I looked into his eyes and knew he and I were
meant to be together. I named him Hercules because that is the
strongest name I could think of. He was so weak and frail from
mistreatment.
Now he is my shadow, we go a lot of places together where he's always
welcome. He lives life to the fullest and shows none of the trauma
from his past. He loves kids, cats, dogs and especially girls. A
little shy around men, once he gets to know them he's very friendly.
My favorite thing to do with him is to snuggle. Either under the bed
covers or on the couch he's always up for a good snuggle. I'm glad to
be in his life and can't wait to get home when I leave him.
