Niko
is special because he keeps us entertained with his antics all
day long. People, especially children, often mistake him for a fox,
and sometimes we'll play along and say that we found him in the
nearby woods!
Niko eats anything that moves! When he wanders outside in our back
yard, he'll snack on sow bugs and worms. It seems that he really
enjoys their crunchy texture in the mid-afternoon after the worms
crawl out onto the concrete and dry up in the sun! He chases flies in
the house as if he was a cat, and usually has a successful combat
with the fly ending up on the kitchen floor. Hence we rarely have use
for our fly-swatter.
Niko hates to get wet and will not go near a pool or the shoreline at
the beach. He is the only dog we know that will "tip-toe"
across the wet lawn to go to the bathroom. Again, his cat-like
qualities shine through.
