My
husband and I got Chynna when she was three months old. She only
weighed nineteen pounds and was very sick. We took her to the vet and
he told us she had the mange, parasites, skin infections etc. He did
not tell us at the time, but he did not think she was going to live.
Our previous dog of eight years, Samson, had just died and my husband
and I had taken his death really hard. We nursed Chynna back to a
healthy playful puppy only to discover she had hip displaysia.
Luckily we were able to find a surgeon that could help her. After two
surgeries to repair her hips and two surgery to repair torn ligaments
in her knees she is doing fine. What makes Chynna so special is that
after all the pain she has lived with she has a very kind and gentle
nature. Her surgeon told us that he normally would have recommended
that we put a dog in her position to sleep but that he had never seen
an Akita with such a loving disposition. We have done everything we
could to give Chynna a wonderful life and she has returned the favor
every day. Her nickname is "The Princess." If you could meet her you
would know why.
