When
Ben was about six months old, he was found wandering the streets
of Aurora, Colorado, by a kind hearted woman who turned him over to
Animal Orphanage, who in turn fostered him with a good friend in the
mountains. Ben was starved for food and affection and had no tags. My
husband and I by then, had been preparing to get a dog for almost a
year; we wanted an adult. Christmas week of 1997, my husband and I
visited our friend and not 20 minutes into our visit, Ben was curled
on my lap, gently waving his paws and licking my face. I looked at my
husband and said our dog had found us. He is a sweet loving hound, an
avid hiker, and loves to cuddle at night and be massaged. We're very
lucky to have met up with him.
