Misjif
is the white Maltese, he is six years old. Mindy is the Lhasa
Apso and she is one year old. They each weigh ten pounds and are very
loving, affectionate members of our family. We don't have any
children, these two precious babies are our children.
Misjif and Mindy are the best of friends now, but it took Misjif over
a year to totally accept Mindy as his equal. We got Mindy because we
felt bad having to leave Misjif all alone when we went to work. He
didn't like her. He was too used to being the only "one" in
our lives. Misjif used to sleep with us, but when Mindy came along,
he retreated to his bed in the corner on the floor. If Mindy jumped
onto the couch where Misjif was lying, he'd jump down and run away
from her. He didn't want to acknowledge her presence. We had a hard
time getting them to sit near each other for a photograph because
Misjif would quickly remove himself. He didn't want to be anywhere
she was. He stopped playing with his toys and started acting like an
old man. We thought, "what have we done to our baby boy?"
Now, a little over a year later, I am happy to say that Misjif has
returned to his old self. He plays with his toys and even sleeps
right next to Mindy in the bed with us. It is so much fun to watch
them play and know that they finally have become the Best of Friends!
