Hi,
I would like to nominate my best friend, Hershey. Hershey is a
three-year-old terrier mix, who lives in Winston-Salem, NC. Hershey
is the best friend anyone could ever want. We adopted her almost two
years ago from an animal shelter near our home. She was very playful
and I thought "boy this one is going to be a handful!!!!"
But as soon as she jumped in the car she became the sweetest little
dog in the world. She sat very still and didn't make a sound. We took
her straight to the pet shop to pick up some toys and a few other
items. She soon won my heart and we bonded quickly.
Hershey and I were alone one day in the apartment when someone banged
on the door very hard. Not knowing who might be on the other side I
was slow to answer it. All of a sudden the door was kicked open and
there stood a huge man. Well little miss Hershey sprang into action.
She started growling and started to run toward the man. She sure did
scare him! He took off running! Good luck was on his side because the
door shut back just as Hershey got to it. I'm very thankful that she
was with me that day. Who knows, she might even have saved my life! I
love my little Hershey, and I tell her so every single day!
