Jake
is six months old in this photo, I rescued him a month before.
He is now eighteen months old and is a great companion. He loves to swim
and play with his best buddies Foster and Bubba. (All three are
Australian shepherds.)
Jake arrived as a 25 pound weakling in poor health at six months old. I
saw a spark in his eye that took my heart away immediately. I had
been thinking about getting a 25 pound, light-haired female dog,
sometime. Then Jake came into my life. With a good diet, plenty of
exercise, and a loving home he has blossomed into a 60-pound, well-
mannered, kind-hearted companion. Jake is an australian shepherd, and
has very obvious herding instincts, as when we walk, he herds
everything that comes our way. He crouches and waits then springs at
the last moment, as if to ambush. He makes so many people laugh with
this behavior, the other dogs worry some, but he is real friendly.
Jake loves to play with his best friends, Foster and Bubba. He takes
his job of being my protector and friend very seriously.
