His
name is "Dr. Brown's Cream Soda" or DB for short. He is
now nine years old. We live in Manhattan, New York, USA and he is
special because
- He smiles and smiles,
- He licks and licks,
- He goes back to smiling!
And when he is not doing the above... he enjoys visiting nursing
homes to meet new friends, he enjoys the attention... licking any
hand offered to him. And he seems to have a permanent smile on his
face, which makes him appear quite friendly. The only problem was
that given his legs, when he was on the floor, most of the patients
were unable to reach him from their wheelchairs. So, we bought him
his very own set of wheels - a classic red Radio Flyer wagon with
wooden side panels. He just goes along for the ride! It brings him up
to a nice level, where everyone can see him, and pet him if they want
to...
He also enjoys biting at any source of a stream of water, getting his
tummy rubbed, and playing tug-of-war!
When I bought him from a typical pet store (the conditions were
pretty poor... he was very small, with kennel cough and the rest...
in fact, the vet we took him to for his first visit was dismayed, and
felt he should never have been sold in the first place..), it was
unclear if he would end up a cream color, or more brown... ...thus,
we gave him the name, "Dr Brown's Cream Soda" just to be
covered... (of course, he ended up red!) We never registered him so
the name is only official in our hearts...
Not only is he my first corgi, but also my first dog... and what a
surprise he has turned out to be... A big dog personality in a tiny
little package...
