Studley
came into our lives at the age of eight weeks. He joined our
15-year-old "matriarch" Ravi who was quite ill. For
Studley's first year, Ravi "mothered" Studley as her own
pup and regained a life we hadn't seen for several years. Prior to
Ravi's passing, we adopted another American Eskimo - Casper - who was
three and had come from a family who had a very ill daughter and they
could no longer care for Casper. He had also had a traumatic life
thus far being stung by a bee hive when a few months old and
surviving the attack, and then having his neck ripped open by an
attack by an older dog. Despite this and being uprooted - he quickly
became the "big brother" to Studley and became the company
Studley craved after Ravi died.
The two of them are now inseparable and though they have very
distinct personalities - will not do anything without the other. In
the mornings, the two leave their night kennels and join Linda and I
on our bed to be "with the pack" curling around our heads
on the pillow and waiting for us to wake-up! They are extremely
loyal, energetic "in your face dogs" who have won our
hearts with their unconditional love and antics and we look forward
to every day we have them with us.
P.S. As you can see from the picture - they are true "eskimos" as
they love the snow and cold and can't wait for the coming winter.
