This
a picture of Katie, she is a full-blood red miniature Dachshund,
was seven years old on Sept. 4, 1998. Katie was a very shy dog when
we bought her from a breeder. She was mistreated and not taken care
of by the breeder and with many trips to the Veterinarian and lots of
TLC she is a healthy and loveable little dog. She he has overcome a
lot of her shyness over the years.
Katie has a way of getting what ever she wants with out making a
noise, she has this stare that makes you aware of her wanting
something and you usually know what it is. She likes a schedule and
she expects us to stick to it. She is a wonderful house pet and stays
in my husbands lap as much as possible. Katie is very much a
protector of her owners, although she has never bitten anyone. She is
very patient with our grand children and lets them pull her ears,
tail,and nose with out trying to bite them. In the summer months we
manage National Forest Camp grounds and she is official "Camp
Dog." Katie goes with us when we travel in out R.V. and loves
it, she hates to be left behind. Katie doesn't know she is a dog, she
thinks she is a person in a funny looking dog suit.
