This
a picture of our Greyhound, Spats. He is a retired racer and his
full name is Santa Fe Spats. We adopted him from Greyhound Adoption
of Ohio one year ago. He is four years old now and lives in Ohio.
When we brought him home it was like bringing home a very large
puppy. He had lived his life in a crate and didn't know what it was
like to be in a home. He had never seen or experienced glass doors or
stairs and many other things that we take for granted. He caught on
to all of those things quickly and has become a wonderful pet. It
took us three months to teach him to sit, but now he is very
obedient. He even competed in a 4-H obedience show and did quite well
considering what kind of life he had for his first three years. Since
he came from Florida we make sure that he wears a fleece sweater when
he goes out on cold winter days. Spats is still like a big puppy and
plays well with our border collie. He also gets along well with our
two cats, only chasing them when provoked into it by the BC.
