This
is Henry. Five years ago my husband's parakeet flew out the
front door. I decided this was the perfect opportunity to get him to
finally say "yes" to getting a dog. He, once again, said a
dog was too much responsibility for two working people. With some
prodding, he agreed to getting a cat and we were off to the Animal
Shelter. While we were there, I picked out a very nice cat. As
I was filling out the application form for the cat, my husband
interrupted and said I had to come and see "Henry." I asked
who Henry was and he just said that I had to come with him. He let
himself, again, into the dog area and opened up the cage to a dog
that he said "called to him." The people at the Animal
Shelter were upset that he opened the cage himself but the dog jumped
right into his arms. I petted "Henry" for a moment, went
back to my application, crossed out the cat's name and put in
Henry's. We got him the next day. He is the most wonderful, loving
dog anyone could ever want. Since then, I've gotten a cat and a
kitten. I think my husband has warmed up to the idea of
"furry" pets!
