Danger, the Dog of the Day
Name: Danger
Age: One and a half years old
Gender: Male Breed: Yellow Labrador Retriever
Home: Orleans, Ontario, Canada

My pet's name is Danger, and yes, it's all sarcasm - fortunately! He is a male yellow labrador retriever who is one and a half years old. This photo was taken when he was one and a half months but now he looks basically the same, only approximately 80 pounds heavier (all muscle though!). He lives with us in Orleans, Ontario, Canada. He loves the area because there are several parks within walking distance where he likes to play with other dogs, big and small. He gets along with all of them but his favorites are a couple of female huskies. I sometimes call him "Romeo." He also occasionally tries to join in the local junior girls softball games held at the park closest to us. He'll do almost anything to try to get a hold of the ball. The first time he tried to join in a game I kept calling his name and suddenly everyone heard a player call out "Watch out, there's Danger on the field!" What he loves most is catching his floppy disk, which he brings back, most of the time.

In the summer he spends most weekends and holidays up at the cottage. We have to cross the lake by rowboat to get there but Danger always decides to swim across instead. He follows us behind the boat for half a mile. The best part is that when he reaches the cottage he still has enough energy to play. And wouldn't you know it, he has a female friend there as well. She's an older black labrador retriever and she has just as much energy as he does. During the winter he loves to play outside in the snow. No matter how cold it gets, he insists on going for a walk or to the park, and we do, every day. He usually tries to join in the neighborhood hockey games held at the park. He seems to think that it's ok to take the puck from the kids. What can I say, he definitely keeps me busy but I love him anyway. That's why he's special.
