I
present to you Kalimera...the world's unique straight-haired
poodle! Despite her "old" age, Kalimera is as vivacious as
a puppy, only she sleeps a lot more than she used to (and snores
also, I must add!). She only understands when we talk to her in
Italian, and she can't do all that roll-over-and-give-your-paw stuff,
but she sits down when told so - isn't that smart?! Yeah - she's a
really brainy dog!
What does she like? Well, she's a big spaghetti fan, so sometimes we
make that every night - we give her a small plate with two or three
strings of pasta! It makes a good break from her rice-and-meet
everyday food! She really is a big food fan. She likes everything
really, except lemon, she hates that!
She has a vast collection of toys that she knows as "puffi"
because that means "Smurf" in Italian and that was her
first toy, so all of them have the same name. She likes to go and
choose one out of her basket, she really sits there and chooses one!
She used to love going to the beach and running, but I guess all dogs
do that, except she had a strange habit: when she ran, she left
prints on the sand of course, but in the shape of 8s. She ran in a
figure eight shape - isn't that weird? Anyway, she's a very smart dog,
and she's a real companion. And although she doesn't talk, it
sometimes feel like she does. She's not just a pet, she's a real
member of the family. But I guess we all feel that way about our own
pets, right?
