My
husband and I got our first dog together right after we bought our
first house. Unfortunately, she was the wandering type who loved to
run away, and she was hit by a car. I never thought I could have
another dog, because I didn't want to get attached again, and then go
through that pain. Fortunately, my husband convinced me that we
should get Cookie. We went and got her on New Year's Eve, and she was
the best way to start 1997. Since then, she has become a part of our
family and has made me into a golden retriever fanatic. All goldens
are great, but Cookie is number one in our hearts forever.
