Buster
is eight - he's a pug. When he was two - he was rescued from a
puppy mill in Owen County Indiana. He'd never been out of his cage,
never been handled, never eaten from a bowl, etc. etc. etc. - to say
nothing of the housebreaking issue. When I first brought him home, he
couldn't sit still - he just kept circling through the house. He was
always on the wrong side of the door when it opened, had to learn to
eat from bowl - that took a loong time (years). He's so sweet and
loving - everyone is drawn to him because he is so non-threatening.
People who are normally afraid of dogs feel comfortable with Buster. I
believe that due to his neglect in his "formative years,"
there are many "instincts" that weren't developed. We just
call him the special needs member of the family - and oh yes - he
snores!
