My
husband is an avid duck hunter and would take our Black Lab,
Remington, with him, leaving me lonely. So, last year I hinted for a
lap dog. Well, Weatherby was my Christmas surprise. She and her
"sis" are named after guns, being the hunting dogs they
are. Remington wasn't too sure about this little yellow ball of fluff
coming into our home, and would growl at her at night so Weatherby
began to share our bed, which I might add she still does a year later
and 75 pounds for the better. She figured out that the mom has an
electric blanket on her side of the bed so she insists on sleeping
very close, usually hogging the whole side and making the mom and dad
hang off the edges. When it's time for the dad to get up, I ask her
"where is the dad?" and she bolts through the bedroom door
and wakes him with lots of kisses, she especially likes to lick his
ears. I couldn't have asked for a more lovable personality in my dog
and companion. She is my Dog of the Day every day.
