Champ
has given more in the last two years than a lot of people will give in a
lifetime, He has given joy, love and hundreds of smootchies to a lot of people
who desperately needed it. He is a member of a local Therapy Dog group that
assists people getting through some very tough times. In last two years he has
missed only a handful of his weekly visits to the local senior homes and
hospitals. At the last christmas party at the county Accute Care Center, Champ
delighted the patients with his extensive array of tricks, in addition to all the
basics: Sit, Down, and Speaking. he also Play's Dead, Backs up, flops onto his
side, Shakes, and "High Fives," and then his favorite "the launch
the cookie off the nose and into his slobbering mouth trick." Although Champ
is only two and a half years old he has already obtained his Canine Good Citizen
certification, Therapy Dog certification, and will take his Delta Society-Pet
Partners certification test next month.
