This
is "Bear." Bear's a mixed Great Dane and Rottweiler.
Although everyone says, she looks like a Black Lab. Bear turned five
years old in March of 1999 and weighs around 95 pounds. I got Bear at
Ester Boyd Animal Shelter in Winchester, Virginia when she was just
nine-weeks old. She was my first puppy and what a hellion. She was
always tearing or chewing something up. I think she's gotten over
that now but I still don't take any chances.
She thinks she's a lapdog, and she's my best friend. She lives with
her sister (Dallas) and brother (Shadow). Dallas is a two-year-old
mixed Saint Bernard/Bull Mastiff, and Shadow is a four-year-old
eleven-pound poodle. They have their own back yard to run in and we
all go for rides in the Blazer on the weekends. They also go to this
big farm sometimes and fun. Bear enjoys eating, preferably people
food, though she doesn't get it too often. She likes playing with the
sister and brother, and yes, running like she's lost her mind! She
likes playing with her toys and chewing on her bones. She has a
monkey in particular that is considered "her baby" that no one else
is allowed to play with. She likes to watch TV, but usually her and
Dallas end up standing in front of the TV and I have to change the
channel for a few minutes. She likes to give hugs up on her hind
legs, and dance that way too. Bear is considered my best friend, and
although I have two other dogs and love them very much, I do have a
special bond Bear.
