Deisel,
or Dedo as we often call him, was a gift from my fiance, on
our anniversary. I love him to death! Anyone who owns a Rottie knows
that they own you! Deisel should be the dog of the day for proving
all to those Rott bad-mouthers that what they think and fear is not
true! When my parents found out about Deisel, all I got was grief,
"they're dangerous," "they're mean," "they
can kill you," "you'll never be able to have a baby with
that kind of dog in the house..." It went on and on, every
person that found out we had him gave us an earful. I've lived with
Rotties before and know it's not the Rott, it's the owner and the
breeding.
That was five months ago and now my parents love him to, well my mom
is still getting used to him. At least she is a lot more relaxed
about it. My dad will take Dedo on walks in the woods and takes him
to the feed store to pick up grain. People need to learn more about
certain dogs and why they get the bad reputation, often it's really
the human behind the dog. I hope Deisel can prove that to every one
who he meets.
Deisel is our angel. That is not a bone he's got in his mouth, it is
his favorite piece of wood. He brought it home from one of the hiking
trips we take. He is so spoiled it's not funny. He has a toy box that
is overflowing! Every time we go out my fiance wants - no, HAS - to
get him a toy or a chew. Deisel has his own loveseat, we got him one
because we had a chair for him (to keep him off us:) and in two
months he was already getting to big for it! He is the sweetest pup
in the world and we love him to no end. He really owns us, he's the
one who decides when it's time for us to wake up. He has been out of
his kennel for over a month and loving it. We bought a mattress, the
toddler or starter bed size, and he sleeps on that at the foot of our
bed. Deisel does try to get in the shower with me every morning, he
loves baths! I can just imagine when he's a hundred and twenty or so
pounds and he wants to get in the shower! He is very smart and
friendly. Whenever we take him with us someone always hurts his
feelings by crossing the street or avoiding him out of fear. He
doesn't know that everyone thinks that he's supposed to be mean and
scary. He just thinks it's his job to play. And believe me Deisel is
all about playing 24/7!
