A
look is worth a thousand words and one look at Finn will tell you
why we think he's special. In the house he's good as gold; he'll do
nothing to jeopardize the privilege of living in warmth and comfort.
He minds. He behaves all the rules. He is loving and lovable.
None of the above describe the dog he becomes when he is in the great
outdoors. His energy level is boundless. He will fetch until your arm
falls off. When it does and you are no longer able to participate, he
will roll his ball around the yard until his nose is raw and
bleeding. When at the lake, he will swim until you are sure that he
must certainly drown from exhaustion. He runs at peak acceleration
and plows through mountains of snow with his nose. Whether on snow or
grass, he loves to crawl on his belly like a reptile. It must feel
good. No amount of treats is too many. Because all the banks and fast
food restaurants in town have dog treats, even driving up to an ATM
machine will start him salivating and going a little goofy. Even
though he is often out of control out of doors, we love him still. He
is our dog du jour every day.
