Duchess
(M&B's Texas Duchess) is a 27-month-old female German
Shepherd. She is very "ball" oriented and brings her ball,
she has about ten, to you anytime she can get you to be still. When
she is at the lake, she loves to swim, and if anyone tries fishing
with a bobber, watch out, because Duchess thinks it's a ball she
needs to bring to you.
Her hobby while at home is chasing her friend, the cat. She chases
the cat up in the corner, the end of the hall, under the table, or
anyplace she feels she has done her herding job, hence sometimes
being referred to as the "beast." Then she lays down and
watches to make sure there is no escape. By the way, she does the
same thing with her humans by always lying in the doorway or the
entrance to wherever we are, making sure we have to step over her to
leave. Then she turns and follows.
Duchess is a great friend and companion, loves to take walks, and
just be where her people friends are. While she is social, we always
feel safer when she is with us. She is well loved and returns
affection at least ten fold. Duchess is shown on "her"
couch. This is in my office at home; the only piece of furniture
there she is allowed on. She knows this is hers.
