Cameo
is a retired racing greyhound that I adopted Feb 27th 1998. Her
racing name was Shannon Gael. She raced but didn't do that well and
after a year they retired her and we adopted her, Lucky us!!!
Cameo is a very special girl and she brings us tons of happiness (if
you can measure it) every day. Although she sleeps a lot and is
considered a couch potato, she also has a personality plus. We have
taught her to fetch, shake, give five, lay, stay, come, heel and roo
(greyhound howling) on command and she loves to please. But at the
same time she demands the same consideration out of us. We open the
door for her, take her for walks, hikes, longggggg car rides, carry
her up and down the icy stairs and make sure she is fed and she is
tucked into bed with her special blankie wrapped around her.
Cameo is a very high-risk dog as she has a severe bleeding disorder
and we have to be careful with her to make sure she isn't injured as
she could bleed to death very quickly. She makes everyday very
special by being herself and I am so happy that we decided to adopt a
retired racing greyhound, so happy in fact that we have a second one
now. They are like potato chips - you can't own just one!! :-)
