I
would like to nominate my dogs, Brandi and Ginger, for dogs of the
day. Brandi is two and a half year old Australian Shepherd, red tri
in color. Ginger is three year old mixed breed (Terrier,
Beagle and who knows what) they live in Ohio USA.
Brandi marches to the beat of her own drum. She is not too fond of
strangers, but once she gets to know someone she loves them. She is
my protector and has appointed herself as the neighborhood watch. No
one or nothing goes up or down the street without Brandi alerting all
the neighbors. Thank goodness we have good neighbors. She loves
vegetables fresh from the garden, she and Ginger pick their own
veggies out of the garden. She likes her buster cube, balls, empty
toilet paper rolls. Due to her herding instinct she thinks everyone
should go outside with her. She once took a dollar bill off of the
table and hid it under her blanket. She likes chasing Ginger around
the yard and barking at the squirrel and birds.
Ginger loves everyone and thinks she always has to be the center of
attention. That is what makes her a good therapy dog. She is
registered with Therapy Dogs International and enjoys visiting the
residents at the nursing home where I work. They love her and ask me
everyday "How is Ginger and when is she coming again?" She
also likes vegetables fresh from the garden and chasing her sister
Brandi around the yard and barking at the squirrel and birds. She
likes anything to chew on, her toy hamburger and the talking dog
toys. She once got out loose and sneaked into a neighbors house
jumped in bed with her son and woke him up by licking his face. They
do not have pets and it was quite a shock to him. Like I said I am
glad I have good neighbors. These two dogs are my life and my
dogs of the day everyday. They bring me so much joy and are always
there for me no matter what.
