About Us
Jasper, the Dog of the Day
Name: Jasper
Age: Two years old
Gender: Male Breed: King Charles Spaniel
Home: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

This is our dog Jasper Bloodstone. He is a King Charles Spaniel, with the Blenheim coloring, (red and white). He is a very special dog as he is a complete gentleman. He follows me everywhere, and sometimes I feel that I have grown a tail. We were so lucky to get him, as the Breeders were saving him for Stud, as he has all the correct features of the show dog, and very good feathering-that is the fur. Again, lucky for us, he grew a bit too tall and too long--all of one inch too long...so we "adopted" him.

Jasper is extremely aware! His self-taught things are quite unbelievable. One of the things is that if someone is at the front door of the building, they phone with a double ring, and he is at the front door of our condo in a moment, waiting... After I finish my meals, and turn off the lamp, he gets up and moves to where he thinks I will go - and he is always correct. If I have turned the computer on... even if he is in a deep sleep, he goes to the place that he has chosen, which is on the floor to the left of me - inches away. When it's our meal time, he lies right at my feet, and does NOT beg for food, while we eat. He will let us know if he is hungry (say I am late in feeding him) he will play like a drum on his large can of kibble that we keep for him. If I am walking in a hurry, he always moves, very very quickly out of the way...in other words, he is a perfect gentleman.

What else can I tell you except that my husband and I are in love! with Jasper, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. People who have had this identical dog, with the Blenheim coloring, Red and White - first known belonged to King Charles the second, I believe in the 1700's. More recent were Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, and on and on. There also is a woman who has two of these dogs that she takes a few times a week to a Children's Hospital, and you should see the children's eyes light up when they are licked and loved by these dogs. We saw this item a few times on the LifeTime Channel. I could go on...
