Crickett
is a wonderful little dog. She's four years old but she
still acts like a puppy. She's loyal and always happy. She wags her
tail so much it hits her in the face sometimes. She's very smart and
learns fast. She finds ways to amuse herself. She can sit, speak, lay
down, play dead, shake, crawl, bow, twirl. She watches TV, and is
fascinated with magnets and bubbles and rubber bands. She also loves
swimming. This picture is of her at the hospital working (pet assisted
therapy).
We rescued Crickett from our local S.P.C.A. She was found as a very
young puppy, alone in a field. She's very special to us. She has
warned us of danger a few times. Once late at night she barked her
head off trying to warn us that someone was breaking in the bathroom
window. We woke up, called the sheriff and they took him away.
We almost lost her twice to Canine Epilepsy. She's had two episodes
about a year apart, then one in July and one August 15th. She lost
consciousness, stopped breathing, then went into seizures. But the
next day she is back to her happy, cheerful self again. There is no
way to stop, we just wait through it. Right now the seizures are
pretty spaced apart, but our Veterinarian says that they will get
closer together as she gets older. There is no cure for Epilepsy,
only treatment, but we wish there was. We value her life and love her
very much and are happy she's in our family.
