I
got Ginger at ten months old to be a wife to my male Chocolate
Standard, Fella. She was in heat at the time but too young so we had
to keep them separated. She seemed to know right away that she was
his wife. We let her have two litters of puppies, she had nine each
time. They were sold all over the US, so when we go to where one is
we look them up to say Hi and see their beautiful offspring. She is a
very smart girl, as is the breed naturally. They don't shed hair like
other dogs, or have a dog odor. But Ginger would not have an odor
anyway, my husband and I call her the queen. She always sits and lays
perfectly. She has her own futon she looks out the window from. She's
very graceful and loving. She is so attached to the male, she's been
known to cry when he goes outside to go to the bathroom with out her!
We take her to the beach in Destin, Florida, where she loves to run
on the sugar white sands and make it squeak as she runs on it. She
was a great addition to our family.
