Jay
is my retired racing greyhound. He is five
years old. I went to the racetrack to find my other greyhound a
companion. While I was there, a lady was bringing back a greyhound
that had lived with her for three years. She wanted to return him. He
is gorgeous and so I asked the lady why she was returning him as it
broke my heart. She said she couldn't afford him. I was very
interested in him so I took him for a walk and noticed that he was
slightly limping. His white coat was dirty and he was not up to date
on his shots. So I was not able to take him home that day.
A week later I went back after the racetrack had brought him to the
vet. His limp was from his muscles being atrophied-not being used.
He said that Jay almost doesn't have any muscles he is so out of
shape. Well, I looked in those eyes and I wanted to take him home
right then and there and I did. He has been a perfect gentleman ever
since he got home and I cannot imagine giving him up. We are still
working on strengthening him. He is a happy guy - tail always wagging
and loving unconditionally - that is why he is special. He currently
resides in Andover MN with his two humans Mike and Jennifer, his two
cat brothers, Sam and Tiger and his greyhound sister LuLu.
