I
was really sad over a breakup, and I wanted my own dog for such a long time,
so my dad went with me to pick out a puppy. I am insanely obsessed with
Pekingese, I must have some strange former life connection with them... There
were three puppies there, and I left with my Mogwai. I remember that day so
well, how this four pound puppy had a 400-pound personality, he was just so
goofy that he made me smile so big it hurt. I precede his name with Emperor,
because Peke's were the dogs of emperors in China, and were considered sacred.
His name is Mogwai because he looks just like the Mogwai from the
"Gremlins" movie, and one of his eyes has a blue crescent in it,
that's how he got the middle name Moonpie. I nominate him as dog of not just
the day, but of the Millennium, because almost two years later his huge
personality still entertains me no end, makes me crack up laughing, and love
him so unconditionally. He's truly a gift and I am his proud servant ; )
