Toby
was a gift to my daughter. When she was transferred to the
Washington, DC area, she was made aware that 110 pound pets make house
renting a difficult if not impossible task...So, since Grammy and
Grampy loved Toby and had a big house and lots of lawn, he came to
live with us. He loves to play catch and fetch.
My son worked as a lifeguard at a private pool last summer. Toby was a
frequent guest and favorite playmate of most of the members. Just try
to keep him out of the water! This spring, before the pool was opened,
Toby simply went swimming in the lake. He is a strong dog but is very
gentle when playing with small children.
Toby's favorite playmates are our big tomcat, Thom, and Ginger, the
brindle boxer across the street. He likes to walk with me to the
mailbox where he has the important task of carrying the junk mail from
the mailbox to the garbage can for me. When visiting the Pet Value
store, Toby decides when he needs a new toy. The shopkeepers love to
watch him walk up and down the aisle to find just the right toy. He
then carries it to the cashier where we tear off the tag and allow
Toby to carry his prize to the car.
My husband loves it when sitting in the revolving recliner, Toby puts
a stuffed toy in his lap. This is the signal to play and the fun
begins. Toby pulls, Grampy pulls and the chair goes round and round.
We have a great time with Toby. Everywhere he goes he gets lots of
attention. He seems to be the largest Weimeraner most people have
seen, at least in this area. He is a beautiful dog and has a wonderful
personality.
