This
is my dog and best friend Buddy playing in his favorite spot - ivy
patches. As best I can tell, he is a Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix.
Three years ago I adopted him from a no-kill shelter in New Jersey and
now he lives with me in Atlanta, Georgia. The story was that his owners
didn't want the puppy so, in the middle of the night, they dumped him in
one of the shelter's outdoor pens. He was a timid, scared dog who was
afraid to be touched. Now, with lots of love and attention, he is the
most friendly and special dog in the world. He is so smart that he
actually does certain things that I never taught him to do (he learned
to play dead in one day). He is truly an amazing dog... never barks, is
always well behaved, and is playful at the appropriate times. For those
reasons, he is my pet of the day every day.
