Rainie
Lynn is a wonderful little girl because she tolerates my whims
and allows me to dress her, take her kayaking, and take silly pictures
of her. She is a real trooper. Rainie is a real ham. She loves to kiss
everyone that comes within a 20 foot radius of her. When I am walking
her in the park if someone says "what a cute dog" that is her cue to
jump up into their arms and give them a kiss. She also makes me laugh.
When beginning her training I would have her sit... then shake... then
down... to get a treat. So now when I tell her to sit, she sits...
throws her arm up in the air and flops on the ground... so she can get
the treat faster!! She is so silly and I love her to death. Oh, by the
way...from the picture you can tell that Rainie doesn't like things on
her head? I call this bah humbug!!! (it is my Christmas card picture for
the season!!)
Why is Rainie Lynn special?
There are soooo many reasons. I have never seen a "dog" who is
such a little person. She has a ton of facial expressions and makes me
laugh all the time. Rainie is quite the character. She grew up with a
kitten so does some things that are not exactly dog like (but dont tell
her). She likes to do lots of things with her hands... like occasionally
when she gets mad at me she will slap me in the face. (This usually
occurs when I am driving). She will hop up on my lap and face me and
then if she is happy with me she will put both her arms around my face
(holding it so I cant get away) and she will lick my face. If she is mad
at me she will grab at my bottom lip with her paw. Its really funny.
Rainie does most ordinary tricks. She will sit, shake hands (she does it
backwards because I am left handed) lay down and of course she kisses on
command. She is very much a people person. When i take her to the park
she stops to talk to everyone. She knows that when people say "cute
dog" they are talking about her, and if they dont say cute dog she
stops to wait for them to notice her. Rainie likes to play "catch
me" too. She bounces like a bunny rabbit around the house so I can
chase her for her favorite toy. Oh, and she knows some of her toys by
name. I can say... "Go get hedgie," or "Where is
hamburger" and she will bring them to me (if she so desires,
ha,ha). Rainie goes everywhere with me in the car. She has been kayaking
with me twice now. (she has her own life vest). Rainie hikes, has been
to home depot in a shopping cart, picks out her own toys at Petco etc.
One time, she even disengaged the alarm system in my car while I was
grocery shopping and I called a tow-truck before I knew what she had
done. She just sat in the drivers seat looking innocent and didn't let
me see she had pulled out the alarm piece and dropped it on the floor.
Oh, the other day she found her one wrapped gift under the Christmas
tree (I haven't finished her shopping yet) and she opened it. I won a $1
bet to my friend who thought she wouldn't be able to get it opened. The
gift was in a metal tin (it was doggie treats). She unwrapped the gift,
pulled off the bow and then opened the cardboard shipping box it was
packed in. I figured since she had gotten that far the least I could do
was open the tin for her.
