Comet
is the best dog that anyone could ask for. She has lived with us
for seven years this November and she has done nothing but get sweeter
and more adorable. She has come with us to Massachusetts and to friends'
houses, she is a great traveller and gets along with literally anyone.
She loves children and lives to entertain them - we have put on numerous
impromptu shows and childrens' parties and she never ceases to amaze
them with her soft ears, ability to jump over them and loving
disposition.
Comet was abused for the first three months of her life, but she has
really come though shining. Almost all of that abuse is not noticeable
at all, except for her fear of water. Her previous owners are suspected
of hosing her down and holding her head underwater when she was "bad."
She was then put into the kennel and we adopted her in November of 1992.
Since we got her, she has had a few close brushes- she broke her leg at
four months old, she has swallowed chicken bones on six occasions, has
eaten about five pounds of chocolate throughout her life, and almost
swallowed a razor blade on one occasion. But she lived (which is what I
find to be the miracle about her :)
Comet still scavenges in the garbage for coffee grinds (her favorite
treat), she is lethal when it comes to her killer claws, and she has
gotten in trouble in the past week more times than you can count on your
fingers, toes and paws, but she is still a loved member of the family
and she always will be. She even has her own website -
