This
is our special girl Pup-a-lup. We think she is a Plot Hound/Red
Bone Coon Hound Mix, but we're unsure. She was dropped off where we live
and was living outside for a few weeks before she decided to adopt us.
We were outside on Halloween when she came up to our porch and decided
that we were the family for her! We're so lucky, she is so sweet. She
was very skinny when she showed up, but you can see from the picture
that she's very healthy now! It took a few weeks for her and our six cats
to get along, but now they get along just fine.
When we come home from work Pup likes to howl with us for several
minutes! We all howl together until Pup runs over to the cabinet and
waits for her treat. After that we put on her harness and go for a long
walk. She gets really excited when it's time for her walk, and runs all
through the house, jumping and howling. When we first took Pup in we
only had a queen-size bed, but we bought a king-size soon after, since
pup loves to sleep with us. She knows when it's bed time, and will get
up and walk into the bedroom and get into bed, even if we're not ready
to! She likes to sleep in between us, resting her head on my legs, or
over the top of one of our heads. Sometimes she'll lay with her head and
legs on top of me, and she weighs almost 60 pounds! She always lets out
huge sighs when she lays down with us. Pup loves to get her ears rubbed,
and always yawns when we rub them. She also loves to play catch with her
stuffed toys. She's one of the most wonderful things to ever happen to
us, and we're so glad that she adopted us!
