My
puppy's name is Pompous Tellero. But we like to call him
"Pompy" for short. Pompy is five months old, as of November
30th, 1999. He is a purebred Short-haired Chihuahua. Pompy lives in
Pennsylvania, United States of America. Pompy came into my life at a
difficult time. My previous dog of nearly ten years, died due to a
spinal cord injury, as well as blindness. I was devastated. I missed the
love of a canine companion.
Upon deciding that I could put past me the memory of my previous 'little
one', I went to a local pet store that had recently opened. In search
for something small to cuddle, I looked in the playbin only to see two
big eyes staring up at me. There was this chihuahua, smaller than a loaf
of bread, and just SOOOOOO adorable. I picked him up and he took to me
immediately, sitting comfortably in my arms, observing the scene around
him. At that moment, I knew that we would be together. I waited a
month, hoping no one would buy him. And when I gathered enough money to
pay for him, I placed a plaid collar on his neck, and christened him
'Pompous Tellero' (in part, because my boyfriend thought he looked
pompous, and also as a tribute to Teller, half of the magic act Penn
& Teller).
Pompy lives in a family of a Labrador Retriever and a Pomeranian. His
favorite toys include rubber chess molds, an ear from a stuffed dog, and
a silly slammer that says "Now you see me, now you don't!" His
favorite food is Puppy Chow, and his favorite pastime is dragging
Mommy's undergarments into the living room when guests are visiting. He
also enjoys snuggling under the covers in bed, and sneaking food from
his Grammy. You can't beat that for being a ham!
