Charlie
came to us in a very unusual way. One day my grandmother was
taking a walk and a dog started following her around the neighborhood.
She kept walking and walking hoping that the dog would find its home and
stop following her. After a while, grandma finally gave up and went
home. The dog followed her. She let him come and go as he pleased and
put up signs asking who owned him. When no one responded, we were called
and asked if we would like Charlie. We said, "Yes," and my
brother went to where my grandmother was and brought him home. When we
took him home, we discovered that he was not potty trained and knew no
tricks. Also, he is afraid of strangers, especially men. We've had him
for awhile now, and he is pretty well potty trained. He knows the
commands sit, lie down, roll-over, shake and blanket. He is also potty
trained now for the most part but is still afraid of strangers. We think
that he was abused by his former owners because of his fear of some
people. We love Charlie a lot, and I hope you think he's as special as I
do.
