Elka
came to us from the local Humane Society at the age of five months
old. She was a wild, biting puppy who did not trust people. We put her
into Basic Dog Training Class and found out she had the ability to be an
Obedience Trial Dog. That was over four years ago. Since then, Elka's
name now has these titles attached to it. U-CDX, AMBOR-CDX, CGC,
AMBOR-CGC, Therapy DOG, WWKC-CD Elka has earned two High In Trials and
has earned qualifying scores towards an ASCA title and an WWKC-CDX.
When Elka is in the ring, she is pleasure to watch, with her tail high
and wagging. She still is a "in a minute dog" and I never know
what she will do in the ring, but win, non-qualify, or anything in
between, she is my Champion. A joy to have around the house, even if she
is still mischievous, but when anyone approaches the house, she is all
business, ready to protect her family. Elka is proof that a wild shelter
dog can be molded into a loving, trusting family member. She is the love
of our lives.
