Quincy
is an eight-year-old "puppy" of questionable descent (his mom
was a Beagle and we suspect that dad was a rogue of an Airedale
Terrier). We found him as a little bitty puppy at the Humane Society,
asleep under his dish which was fitted into the gate-like door. He
seemed to be the kind of mix that would grow up to be the right sized
dog for the apartment we were then living in, so we adopted him... or he
adopted us! As a pup he was all black with tan mask, feet and chest --
almost Rottweiler markings -- but this pooch is definitely a lover, not
a fighter. (Look at those big brown eyes giving you his classic
"Please give me a biscuit" look.)
Many people think he looks like the famous
"Benji" from the movies, and indeed he has that kind of
charisma! Quincy is a wonderful companion, loves a good walk, adores
biscuits and enjoys being with his pack where my husband Brian is alpha
dog and I am the one who feeds, pees & poops him... so to speak...
surrogate mom I guess! Quincy is very vocal in his communication - not
barking necessarily - but an imaginative variety of squeaks and whimpers
and yelps. We believe he is very frustrated he can't actually speak
English! He certainly is frustrated when we don't understand!
