Keiko
is our second Shiba Inu. Our last one died unexpectedly June of
1999 at one and a half years old. Shiba's have a wonderful personality
and rarely bark! They love people and other dogs. Keiko likes to
play outside in the snow and chase leaves and other things in the wind.
She also loves playing with her sister Tequila (a Springer Spaniel) and
chasing her brother Spike (a cat). Keiko learns quickly and knows how to
do quite a few tricks. After a bit more obedience training, we may start
agility training. When we go out in public, everyone asks "What
kind of dog?" When we reply "A Shiba Inu", they say
"A what?" and then they say "She looks like a fox."
Yes, she does look like a fox. That's why we put a safety vest on her in
the fall/winter during hunting season.
