This
is Niijii, our nine-month-old Black Lab mix. "Niijii" is
Ojibwa for friend, and she sure is. My wife found her along side the
county road we live on in October, 1999. We were looking for another dog
to keep our dog Cosmos company after the death of our previous Black Lab
in August. The next day I tracked down the owner who was looking for a
home for Niijii. What a find! I have been a dog owner ever since I was a
kid. I have never had a dog who is as loving & cuddly as Niijii. She
is a kid with fur! She spends her days roaming our ten acres (we have an
Invisible Fence) with her brother Cosmos nosing into everything she
finds interesting. Of all the dogs I've had she is the biggest dirtball,
coming home with a muddy face in her pursuit of happiness or covered
with cockle burrs, which she likes to deposit in our carpeting. She has
the greatest disposition I've ever seen. My wife & I feel blessed
that Niijii wandered into our lives.
