Joxer
(A.K.A "Poopy Puppy") is now six months old. He was
about three months old in the pictures. He's just a little bundle of joy
ready to give lots of kisses to anyone's face that is within range and
he'll tackle you trying to get your face in range.
He got his nickname while we were trying to get him potty trained. I
think he had to go about once every half hour. He loves to howl at
anything and everything when he wants attention, and believe me when we
take him out, he gets lots of it. Everyone just thinks he so adorable,
and he is! He loves riding in the car. I have a CRX which is a hatchback
but it has a back covered area. He climbs up on top of that (usually
managing to bang his head against the back window in the process) and
will sit there able to see out and out of the way of out other dog, Xena
(a German shepherd).
He's the biggest chicken in the world. He lives with Xena, five cats, a
myriad of various rodents, a snake, and a bird. One of our cats has
become "Alpha dog." He has no claws but when either of the
dogs come around he hisses and the dogs run away. Joxer used to be so
scared of him he'd run away peeing. He still runs away.
His daddy once was trying to play with him like he does Xena. Run into
the room, hands raised making a fake "grrr" sound. Xena knows
this is time to play and will bounce around the room and run after you.
Poor Joxer wasn't too sure of this ordeal and got a very blank look on
his face, sat there shaking, and proceeded to pee an awful lot on the
floor. Dad sat down, laughing, and Joxer happily came over wagging his
tail to give kisses. Since then he's taken to playing the game and will
sit there and howl at us while Xena chases us around.
He's a big baby too, if you pick him up he'll put both his front feet
and his back feet to either side of your neck and hips and hold on,
licking your face for everything it's worth. He's so lovable and he's
our little Poopy Puppy. Our Dog of the Day, every day.
