Although
he may look ordinary, Triton is everything but. You see, this
little puppy was specially bred to be a service dog. He was born in Florida
on August 14, 1999 and came to us when he was eight weeks old. Our job
is to socialize him to every thing imaginable, teach him basic
obedience and most of all love him for the first year and a half of
his life. So far in his short time here, he has been on an airplane,
gone to the mall, post office, bank, grocery store, he's even gone
bowling. Basically he goes where ever we go on our every day routine.
Triton is no dummy either. He learns very quickly and seems to know he
has a job to do. When his special cape goes on and we go out, we see
this goofy playful puppy turn into a very grown up golden retriever
with a mission. Just as quick is the transformation back to playful
puppy when the cape comes off again. This picture was taken during our
first snowfall this year. He was plowing the snow with his nose and
stopped just long enough to look at something off in the distance. In
about another year or so Triton will return to the organization that
bred him to begin his formal training, or as we like to say, he will
go off to college. There he will learn everything he needs to know in
order to help someone and to fulfill his destiny in life.
